The 10 most interesting UK D2C marketing agencies in 2026.
By Nathan Pearson
A useful list, written by someone who actually runs an agency and has worked alongside (and occasionally against) most of these. None of these recommendations are paid. Lumos is on the list, but at the position we think we deserve, which is somewhere in the middle.
The list
1. Charle (London)
The best ecommerce SEO operation in the UK, full stop. Read their statistics articles and you’ll understand why — they rank for hundreds of terms that most agencies would never think to target. Their content strategy is the best practical example of the JTBD keyword approach in UK ecommerce.
2. Statement Agency (London)
Premium D2C with a London-rate price tag. Visually the sharpest work in the category. They don’t rely on search — their model is almost entirely brand and referral, which tells you something about the quality of the work. Not cheap.
3. Eastside Co (Sheffield)
Long-standing Shopify specialists with genuine build expertise. Strong technical team. If you need a complex Shopify build and want UK-based delivery, they’re at the top of that list.
4. Magnet Monster (London)
Klaviyo and lifecycle specialists who know their craft. Genuinely good at email — they write well and they understand flows, not just campaigns. If lifecycle is your primary problem, they’re worth speaking to.
5. Lumos Digital (Manchester / Norfolk)
Us. Six brands at a time, senior-led, no juniors. One engagement across SEO, paid, optimisation, and lifecycle. Worth talking to if you’re a D2C brand doing £75k–£300k/month. We’d rather you speak to one of the others on this list if the fit isn’t right.
6. Swanky (Exeter)
One of the more thoughtful Shopify Plus agencies outside London. Strong on the build and migration side. Their content on Shopify Plus migrations is some of the most honest in the category.
7. Velstar (Liverpool)
Shopify specialists with strong case studies from fashion and homeware brands. Worth considering if you’re in the North West and want a build team with sector-specific experience.
8. Underwater Pistol (Belfast)
Consistently good work, underrated outside their region. Their blog content is honest and practical — a sign of an agency that isn’t just generating word count.
9. Blend Commerce (Manchester)
The single best piece of content in UK ecommerce is probably their annual conversion rate benchmark report. Gets cited by every agency in this list including ours. Strong on CRO and Shopify optimisation.
10. Verb Brands (London)
Premium DTC with a lean toward luxury and beauty. Not the right fit if you’re a scrappy D2C brand, but if you’re a polished consumer brand looking to scale and you can afford London rates, they’re credible.
How to use this list
If you’re shopping for an agency, read their content before you speak to them. An agency’s content tells you more about how they think than any discovery call. Charle and Blend both publish genuinely useful material — that’s the standard to hold everyone else to.
If you want to know whether Lumos is the right fit for your situation specifically, the fit call is free and short.
